He doesn't want an easy life. He already has one.

Nobody knows where Gato came from. One morning he was on top of the ATM at a Vice City liquor store, and the store has been his ever since. The clerk thinks he owns the place. The clerk is wrong.

Everyone in Leonida walks through that door eventually — grifters, crooks, a guy named Jason buying beer. Gato doesn't move for any of them. He never does. That's how you know who's really in charge.

Hector Marin

What if everything in the store was his? It isn't.

Hector runs the register, restocks the Sprunk, mops the floor, and locks up at 2 AM. He's the manager. He's been the manager for eleven years. He has never once managed the cat.

He's tried moving Gato off the ATM twice. Both times the security footage went missing. Hector doesn't try anymore.

Jason & Lucia

Jason & Lucia

The humans want an easy life. Things just keep getting furrier.

A pair of recurring background characters. Jason comes in for beer roughly once per trailer. Lucia waits in the car. Neither of them has ever acknowledged the ATM. Gato has acknowledged them.

Meeting Gato could be the best or worst thing to ever happen to them. They haven't noticed yet.
